With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Zoia Nanov, wife of the late Nikola Nanov, on July 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Zoia was born Lazora Bochkarova, in Drenoveni, Lerinsko on April 15, 1935 to parents Alexandra and Lambro. Zoia and her family immigrated to Canada in 1970 for a chance at a better life for her children.

Zoia was a dedicated and loving mother to her two adoring daughters, Anna (Jean Dukoski), and Tina, and a very proud grandmother to her three beloved and cherished grandchildren, Nickola, Viktorija and Kristina. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed but will be carried in our hearts forever.

Zoia loved to spend time with her family, to bake delicious treats and to tend to her award-winning garden. She was known for her love of family, her energy, her sense of humour, and her ability to connect with people she met everywhere.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair Ave. E., Scarborough, 416-267-8229) on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 2:30 p.m., followed by burial at Pine Hills Cemetery.
