In memory of

Zisis "Joe" Nistas

March 18, 1969 -  December 12, 2021

Passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the age of 52. Beloved husband, devoted father and compassionate son. He is survived by his wife, Kanella; his children, George and Angela (Kiki); and his father, Triantafillos. Preceding him in death was his brother, George and his mother, Angela.

Joe loved his family unconditionally and did anything and everything for them. He enjoyed his times with George learning about trains and loved watching him play hockey. He loved watching Kiki take the stage at dance competitions. He was so proud of both of them. Taking them on ski trips, biking in the neighbourhood, swimming in the backyard and family vacations were some of his most cherished times with them.
A gifted listener who was readily available when people needed to talk. No judgment, no criticism.

Visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Centre 625 Birchmount Rd. (north of St. Clair Ave E.) on Sunday, December 19th, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. In an effort to maintain a safe environment and adhere to provincial, local and Regulatory Directives; All attendees planning to attend any indoor funeral related event (i.e. Visitations, and/or Funeral Service) MUST provide Proof of Vaccination Status and Valid Government Issued ID to enter the facility. Children under 12 years of age are exempt. Use of Face Coverings are mandatory while inside all facilities. Please refrain from physical touch (i.e. Hugging, handshaking).

Funeral Services will take place at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church (1385 Warden Ave., Scarborough) on Monday, December 20th, 2021 at 11am. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery.

He supported many causes throughout the years especially SickKids where his brother spent the last year of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to SickKids Foundation.

Family, friends, acquaintances are all devasted by this great loss. We love you! We miss you! We will never forget you!
