In memory of

Mary Louise Zigomanis

May 14, 1947 -  October 8, 2024

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mary Louise Zigomanis on October 8, 2024 at the age of 77. Mary is survived by her loving husband, John Zigomanis; her daughter, Dawn Brlek; and her son, Michael Zigomanis, along with his spouse Sofia and her grand-daughters Ivy, Thalia and Athena. She also leaves behind her brother Joe Brlek and his wife Bella. Her life was preceded by the passing of her parents, Steve and Ivy Brlek; her brother Steven Brlek; and her sisters, Laura (Gary) Reid and Linda Sutch.
Mary was born in Welland Ontario and moved to Toronto in the 1960’s. Mary spent some of her earlier years working as a waitress at Switzer’s Deli and after the birth of her son Michael was able to enjoy a fulfilling career with the TDSB as a Teacher Assistant for children with Special Needs. She loved her job and enjoyed working with children till she retired in 2008. Mary loved gardening and taking care of her home and many pets. And while living in the east end of Toronto Mary was able to meet many wonderful people and make lifelong friends. Mary will be remembered for her fun outgoing personality.

Mary had a special bond with her nieces and nephews and loved to hear about their lives and the adventure they had.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Pine Hill’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday October 17th between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm at Pine Hills Cemetery in the main building. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital.
