Zenepha "Mama" Ali

July 2, 1926 -  March 13, 2021

Zenepha Ali was born in San Juan, Trinidad and Tobago on July 2nd, 1926. She was the first child born to Rahamat and Sakhoran Ali. Known as Zenepha to few and Mama to many, she lived in Malick Barataria, surrounded by lots of family and relatives. Mama had the role of being a mother to 13 children, a homemaker, a roti maker and operating her own snack shop at home.

Her passions included family, sewing, cooking, sharing stories of her past and much more. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver and played a big role in helping to raise most of her grandchildren.
At the age of 69, she immigrated to Toronto, Canada where 4 of her children reside.

After 25 years and 5 months of living in Canada and at the age of 94, Mama passed on peacefully at home on March 13th, 2021.

Rest In Peace πŸ™πŸ½ my sweet Mama. I LOVE you and will MISS you dearly. It would be hard not seeing your beautiful face when I wake up, not seeing your beautiful smile again, not hearing your voice ever again. You will forever live on in my thoughts and my heart ❀. Your memories will live on in all your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, your family and friends and neighbors. So you sleep now and when you reach to heaven I know you will be looking down on us and you will be watching over us give Papa and the rest of the family and friends a kiss for me. I LOVE you always ❀❀❀❀❀

You will forever be my Mama ❀. Thank you for ALL that you have done for me while here on earth and for ALL that you will continue to do for me from the heavens. Thank you for giving me a million memories, ones that will bring me comfort ALWAYS. It will always be an honour to be your granddaughter and to have your name (Zenepha). I will also be eternally grateful to have known you for the last 33 years. I will end with what I always said to you when we parted 'sleep well and don't forget to say your prayers'...Until we meet again...remember I love you now, I'll love you tomorrow and I'll love you ALWAYS ❀

We little knew that morning that god was calling your name in life we loved you dearly
In death we do th same
It broke our hearts to lose you
You did not go alone for a part of us went with you the day God called you home
You left us peaceful memories your love is still our guide and though we cannot see you
You are always at our side
Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again rest in peace ma love u
