It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Zdravko Crnojević. While on a visit to Serbia, he passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Belgrade.
Zdravko is survived by his wife, Milena, of 49 years. Devoted father to Svjetlana Thomson (Kenneth) and Dušan Crnojević (Irena). Adored djedo to grandchildren Djordje and Kristina Došlo, Alistair Thomson, Marko, Marina and Aleksandar Crnojević.
Zdravko was born in Budanica, Yugoslavia in 1952 to Dušan (late) and Mara (late). His siblings, Radojka, Ruža (late), Boško, and Marko.
Zdravko came to Canada in 1975 and was welcomed to the home of his sister Ruža’s family (Danny Loudas), in Mississauga. He first worked as a butcher and then with McDonnell Douglas for many years. In 1988 he settled in Etobicoke with his family.
Zdravko will be remembered fondly for his sense of humour, friendly nature, and dependability. He enjoyed being anywhere Serbian music was played, songs were sung, and kolo danced. He loved and got great joy from fishing in the lakes of Ontario. When not fishing he happily spent his days driving his grandchildren to/from school. He was a very proud grandfather and had special relationships with each grandchild. He was well known at each school and adored by the school children when he handed out candy on a daily basis.
Zdravko will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.
