Yvonne Jean Sutton, lovingly known as “Mar”, was the backbone of our family. Born in South Africa, the youngest of 10 siblings, she was raised to be strong. She would marry her true love, Walter. Together they had 2 sons. Sadly, Walter died young.
Mar immigrated to Canada but loved to travel whenever possible. She met her second husband Bob, but later he passed as well. But Mar, doing what she did best, continued on.
Mar was a loving woman, with a superb wit. She knew what and who she liked, or didn’t, and had no problem sharing her opinion either way. She had an easy smile and contagious laugh. She was crafty, making things like beautiful sweaters and blankets, that have become treasured items in many of our homes. She loved plants, good food and bingo.
Above all, she loved her family.
Ma’s life was a long, beautiful and full one. She was the last sibling to pass. She leaves behind a family that will miss her more then words including her sons: Norman (Yvonne) and Walter (Maggie). She leaves behind grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many extended family and friends she treated like family.
