It is with deepest sorrow to announce the passing of Yutaka (Mickey) Yoshida at the age of 91 years, on Friday June 14, 2024 with his wife Betty Yoshida by his side for his final moments. Together, they built a life filled with shared memories for 65 years. As a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend he touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. He was a man of integrity, known for his kindness and his smile. As a father, Yutaka guided and supported his children, Micheal (Susan), Sandra (Bo), and Catherine. His unconditional love will forever resonate in their hearts. Yutaka was a cherished grandfather to Jessica, Nicholas, Adam and Kaitlyn. His presence, laughter, and gentle guidance enriched their lives. A man with a big heart, Yutaka often thought of others before himself. He led a life filled with love, and laughter, and unwavering dedication. His mother Natsu was married to Tozo Yoshida and had a loving family which left Yutaka with 2 sisters (Mariko-predeceased and Hamako) and 3 brothers (Takashi-predeceased, Isao, and Susumu—predeceased). Yutaka led a life in Kapuskasing filled with love for work at Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company cutting down trees. When he was not working which was rare, you would find him puttering around in the potato fields, gardening, fishing, or trying to fix his chainsaws in the garage. Even after retiring, Yutaka continued working until the age of 86 at Hupaco Wood Products in Ajax, Ontario, making pallets and skids. Yutaka’s work ethic and love for wood are remarkable. His commitment to hard work and his big heart, always thinking of others, are truly admirable. The family’s gratitude toward Bayshore Traditions HealthCare professional staff reflects the care and support Yutaka received during his time with them. A celebration of life will be held in September, and donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated in Yutaka’s memory.
