Yung Huee Tuan
December 26, 1930 – November 3, 2016

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Yung Huee Tuan, age 85, of Toronto on November 3, 2016. He left peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side.

Yung Huee was born in Xian, China, to a hard working family during difficult times.

Beloved husband, he is survived by his wife Ching Yuo of 54 years. Loving father to Joseph, John, Ruh Wei, and Daniel. Grandfather to Victoria, Sarah, Joanne, Jill, Lucas, and Lance. Dear father-in-law of Cassandra, Janet, and Lisa.

Dad was one of the smartest and hardest working person I know. He was in the Chinese Nationalist Army during WWII, although difficult it also provided him with the opportunity to gain an education that will forever change our lives. Mom and Dad settled in Taiwan and raised three boys. He was highly respected in his professional life as an engineer and teacher, and was always willing to help family members. In 1975, our family immigrated to Canada, by way of Argentina, and shortly after our youngest brother was born. Mom and Dad sacrificed a great deal to ensure our family will have a better future and greater opportunities in life. For this we will forever be grateful.

Retired in 1996, Mom and Dad truly started to enjoy life. They travelled to China, Taiwan, Hawaii, Singapore, and Thailand to name just a few places. Dad was a great cook and everyone in the family loved his spaghetti sauce. He really loved Canada and all the opportunities it provided. Dad loved the vastness of the country with all the lakes, trees and beauty.

As we say goodbye to Dad, his memory will live with us forever. We love you Dad.

Please join our family in a Celebration of Life at York Funeral Centre on November 10, 2016.
