In memory of

Yuk Kau Hui

October 29, 1941 -  October 9, 2023

In loving memory of Yuk Kau Hui, who passed away peacefully on Monday Oct 9, 2023 surrounded by family. She is the loving wife of Ah Cheung, mother to Jessica, William and Frances, proud Poh Poh to three wonderful grandchildren, Julia, Jonathan and Megan and kind mother-in-law to Michael and Lindsay. She leaves behind a family deeply enriched by her love, guidance and care.

Born in China she moved to Hong Kong as a teenager, and later came to Canada where she raised a family. Her life had moments of wonder and extreme tragedy, but over the years she remained focused on her family, caring for her children and later her grandchildren, but managed to steal some time to pursue her three favorite pastimes of fishing, gardening and travelling.

We love you Poh Poh. We carry you in our hearts.

Also, a special thank you to the fabulous people in the teams that cared for her through the 5A unit at Toronto General Hospital, the level of care was truly first class and your remarkable compassion was deeply appreciated.

Flowers are welcome. Or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Toronto General Hospital: https://tinyurl.com/Uhnfoundationdonation

Warmly remembering Mrs. Hui from the times I had spent at the family home, as a teenager and young adult. She was generous, poised and simply remarkable. Her orchids lit up the kitchen, her smile was golden. She will be dearly missed. My sincerest condolences to her family.

I’ll always remember your mom fondly, and especially for all the times she welcomed me into your home and for family meals - never forcing me to drink the (slightly frightening) Chinese soup! She was a kind, generous, and classy lady.

My deepest condolences to the Hui family for the loss of your matriarch.
