It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Yu Zhen (Yvonne) Shen on August 21st, 2023 at the Yee Hong Peter Kwok Hospice in Scarborough, Ontario, aged 71. She was the beloved wife of David, cherished mother of Jennifer and her husband Derrick, and loving grandmother of Evan and Brennan.

She was an adored and nurturing kindergarten teacher in Shanghai China. Her classrooms were always filled with joy and music. She bravely immigrated first to Toronto Canada in 1989 to help her family establish a new home. She later worked at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto for over 20 years.

She was a creative and determined self-learner who became proficient in piano, the accordion, sewing and knitting. She will be remembered as someone who managed to do so much with whatever she had.

All will remember her as an incredibly giving, kind, loving and hard-working person who always puts others first.

She will be dearly missed and forever be in our hearts.
