On May 26, 2019, Toy passed away in the presence of his loving daughter Dawn at Scarborough Grace Hospital. Loving and devoted husband of May. Adored father of Elizabeth (Robin), Sherry, Dawn (Erwin) and Yvonne (Geoff). Beloved Gramps of Brandon, Jordan and Meagan. Toy was predeceased by his parents, Chiu Yip (father) and Sun Kum (mother), Betty (sister) and Andrew (brother). He will be missed by his siblings in Australia and China: Won Jean (sister), Chiu Chee (brother), Stephen (brother), York Chee (brother), Chiu Gee (brother), York Ming (brother) and York Wot (brother).

For many years, Toy worked as a caretaker at The University of Toronto's Erindale Campus.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ung at Sunnybrook Hospital and the Emergency Room staff at Scarborough Grace Hospital especially Dianne, Bonnie, Sabrina and Grace.
