In memory of
Yong Soon Khang
March 27, 1933 -
October 20, 2021
Yong Soon Khang (Margaret) passed away peacefully in her sleep in Toronto, Canada. Her loving husband, Dong Song Khang, passed away three years ago and was dearly missed by her.
She is survived by her eldest son Stephen Khang, daughter Mira Kim, and son David Khang. She had six grand children: Kristopher Khang, Richard Khang, Patrick Khang, Kevin Kim, Winston Kim, and Eric Khang. She was also blessed with four great grand daughters: Brisa Khang, Journey Khang, Leona Kim, and Presley Khang.
Yong Soon was born in Korea to Ki Sun Kye and Reverend Jae Kyu Lee. She was the third born of eight children.
She moved to Canada in 1969 with her three children to join her husband who moved a year earlier, in dreams to make a better life for her children.
She was a kindergarten teacher, pianist at a church, a devoted wife, and a loving mother to her children. Like many Korean immigrant moms, she worked tirelessly at home and at work so that her children could have a better life. Later in life, she was able enjoy life and live it to its fullest. She spent many of her years travelling, visiting Hawaii frequently in the winters. Yong Soon loved music and was gifted pianist and singer. She also enjoyed an occasional game of golf.
She will be dearly missed, but we are comforted in knowing that she will be able to join her husband, parents, and other loved ones she was predeceased by.
