Yin Yau Hung, born Nov 5, 1935 in Shantou, China passed away in Toronto, Ontario on Jan 7, 2021. Yin Yau is survived by his spouse Sik Wah, whom he was happily married to for almost 60 years. Yin Yau will also be deeply missed by his son James (Wang Xiao Qin), three daughters Winnie (Vincent) Yeung, Annie (Pui Lam) Lai, Tina (Hans) Wong and seven grandchildren Natalie (John) Ong, Jonathan Yeung, Vanessa Lai, Tiffany Hung, Bernice Wong, Hayley Wong and Ivan Lai.
Yin Yau was a selfless and caring man. He put his family above all else. In 1984, he moved to Canada and dedicated himself to spending time with his children during their university years. He was often happiest in his loving home, surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Yin Yau was also committed to his community. He had great respect for his roots, and actively contributed to his ancestral hometown, whilst promoting Chinese culture in Toronto. He touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered for his kindness and love.
The family will be holding a private memorial service on Wednesday Jan 13, 2021 at 9am to 11am at the York Cemetery and Funeral Centre. Live streaming of the service will begin at 9:50am.
