In memory of

黃日輝先生 Yat Fai Wong

September 29, 1938 -  August 31, 2021

Yat Fai Wong, 82, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away on August 31, 2021, surrounded by all his five children. He was born to parents Su Man Wong and Iong Mio Lo, on September 29, 1938, in Macau, China, as one of their eight children.

He was married to Muk King Fung, the love of his life, in 1965, who predeceased him in 2016. Yat Fai is survived by five daughters, Connie, Belinda, Kitty, Linda, and Rebecca, and sons-in-laws Wilson Cheung, Stephen Steele, Ivan Ho, Tristan Wan, and grandsons Hayden Ho and Caleb Ho.

Yat Fai was a beloved and loyal husband, father, and grandfather. He was considerate, gentle, and generous to his families, extended families, and friends. He was hard working and resilient, and started his apprentice training as an industrial sewing machine mechanic at an early age in a garment factory, where he met his wife Muk King, in Macau. He had set his life goal at an early age, visioning to own his own industrial sewing machine sales and repair shop. He achieved his goal shortly after he was married. He left a legacy as a successful businessman in the area. He taught by example and has always been a true inspiration to all his children. After he retired, he spent his time leisurely in Toronto, enjoying daily morning dim sum, gardening, swimming, and cooking. Even at an old age, his motto was to keep learning, and keep progressing, and will not stop until the very end.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10 AM (visitation at 9 AM), at the York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
