In memory of

司徒麗堂先生 Yan Seto

October 11, 1931 -  November 19, 2021

Yan (Henry) passed away peacefully on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the age of 90. Cherished father of Michael (Carol), Nina (Stephen) and Anna (Chai). Loving grandfather of Nicole, Richard, John, James and Alexander. Predeceased by wife Hung Min (Regina) in 2008.

Yan was born in 1931 in Guangdong, China. He received his degree in Engineering from the University in Beijing. As a student, he competed in sports and was a Provincial track and field champion. He married Hung Min in 1957 and moved the family to Canada in 1966. He worked in Toronto for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation in the department of highway design until his retirement in 1996.

Yan was a devout Catholic and frequent visitor of Annunciation parish stopping in to share a few stories or to drop off a box chocolates to staff. Yan continued to enjoy an active and independent lifestyle at Mon Sheong Court, enjoying the company of his grandchildren, children, extended family and friends over a “friendly” game of table tennis, round of mah-jong or over a good dim sum lunch. His grandchildren will forever miss him more than words can say.

Flowers and donations in person are welcome at York Funeral Centre.
