It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Xia Zheng Huang on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at his home in Toronto at the age of 89. Predeceased by his loving wife Xing Su Huang of 60 years and son Yi Zhuo Huang. Loving father of Yi Ling, Yi Mei (Tsao Yao Lin), Yi Jie (Xiukun Xu), and Yi Xue (Wing Wong) and father-in-law to Zhenyu Zhang. Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to many. Xia Zheng was a dedicated family man who treasured his many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephew and nieces. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.

Born in Guangdong, China where he and his late wife wed and raised 5 children. He supported his family by working many jobs with a wide range of professions, including military lead and principal. Immigrated to Canada with his wife and daughter in 1988 and continued to support his family overseas. He was incredibly knowledgeable, had amazing memory, and a wonderful sense of humour. He loved trying new restaurants and watching martial arts movies.

Please take a moment to share memories or messages of condolence with Xia Zheng’s family in the guestbook.

Thank you gong gong for teaching us so much when we were growing up. From making sure we knew how to take our TTC routes, to writing letters in Chinese, to doing math on the abacus. You were always calm, knowledgeable, and full of intriguing stories. You will be missed by all of us. Hope you are with poh poh now.
