In memory of

Wing Kwong Lam

September 21, 1938 -  February 27, 2025

Wing Kwong Lam, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the morning hours of Thursday February 27th, 2025, at the age of 86 years old.

He will be lovingly remembered by Rebecca, his wife of 59 years and their children William (Caroline) and Joyce (Victor). Wing was extremely proud of his 6 grandchildren: Hannah (Nam), Andrew (Annette), Jessica, Rachel (Ignatius), Adam and Christian and his great-grand daughter Tianna, born to Hannah & Nam, in June of 2024.

Wing was the eldest son of a large family and will be greatly missed by his 2 brothers and 3 sisters and their families.

Wing was born in Canton, China, on September 21, 1938. He majored in economics at the University of Hong Kong and worked at the Export Credit Insurance Corporation, a business arm of the Government of Hong Kong, before immigrating to Canada in 1973 with Rebecca and their 2 young children. He worked in export trading for many years with Bata Shoes and later with Coleman Canada. Wing enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was in his back yard, walking in parks, or fishing on a boat. Mr. Lam was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ. Wing loved God and faithfully served His people at the Toronto Chinese Presbyterian Church and Markham Chinese Presbyterian Church for many years in positions including Treasurer, Clerk of Session and Elder. He was known for being upright, organized, meticulous and caring. He was not a man of many words, but his words carried much weight. During his retirement years, he enjoyed travelling, having dim-sum with family and friends, reading and spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren).

He will deeply be missed by his many friends and family but is now safely in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior. We give thanks for his deep faith in Jesus Christ.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made payable to Markham Chinese Presbyterian Church.
