September 9, 1937 -
February 27, 2025
With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Wing Kit Ng on Thursday, February 27. His presence touched the lives of many friends and family, and his memory will always be treasured.
Wing Kit was born on September 9, 1936, in Toishan, China. At the age of 19, he bravely immigrated alone to Toronto, which became his lifelong home. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly in various restaurants and dry cleaning facilities across the United States and Toronto to support his father's family in Hong Kong. In 1970, he married Carmen Wong. From 1972, he balanced two jobs, working at Canada Post during the day and another job at night. Wing retired in 1999, dedicating his time to caring for his wife and home, and delighting family and friends with the many meals he made with love and care.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Carmen; his daughter, Karen; his son, Johnny; daughter-in-law, Jenny; and his three granddaughters, May, Evie, and Maggie. He is also remembered by his younger siblings and their partners: Peggy & Anthony, Steven & Suzanna, Rainbow & Ricky, and Christina & Matthew. His sister-in-laws and their partners, Karen & Greg, and Kathy & Suky, along with their children will also miss him dearly.
Wing Kit Ng's kindness, generosity, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to SickKids Hospital to be made in memory of Wing Kit Ng. Donations will be accepted in person and/or through the donations link found on the top right corner of this web page.
