In memory of

William Wesley Hannah

September 12, 1938 -  May 12, 2024

William “Bill” Hannah, 85, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 in the hospital while recovering from a broken hip in February.

Bill was born in 1938, the youngest of four children in Toronto, Ontario. His early years were with Canada Packers where he led the company into the computer age in data processing. He then ran his own business for several years and then in 2003 retired from the Beer Store.

Bill wore many titles: husband, dad, grandpa, brother, son, uncle, friend, mentor and, perhaps his most well-known title, hockey statistician.

He had a passion for being involved in sports, played baseball and hockey and then as a father guided his sons, Keith and Christopher into hockey, tennis, swimming and skiing. A true blue Maple Leaf Fan, had season tickets at Maple Leaf Gardens in the late 60s and early 70’s and was thrilled when they won the Stanly Cup in 1967.

His favourite vacations were spent in Port Elgin, Ontario, from his teenage years with his older brother Johnny to 2019 with his children and grandchildren. After teaching himself to sail, he enjoyed time on his 20 ft. sailboat. He also enjoyed 5 pin bowling until the pandemic made him hang up his bowling shoes.

He is predeceased, sadly, by his son, Keith, sister Joan, brothers Bud and Johnny, his parents, Anne and David.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, son Christopher, daughters-in-law Elizabeth and Manuela, grandsons, Tristan, Tyler, Kyle and Scott and last but not least granddaughter, Allegra, along with many nieces and nephews and their families.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Salvation Army or Muskoka Woods.
