In memory of

William Knarston Taylor

November 24, 1926 -  November 10, 2020

Taylor, William Knarston

Dr Bill, Nov. 24, 1926, died unexpectedly in his 94th year on Tuesday Nov 10, 2020 at Harmony Hills Care Community, Toronto due to COVID complications.

Loving husband of Marion Merle (nee Main) (deceased) & beloved father of Dierdre (Linda). Dear brother to John (deceased) & sister-in-law Nancy. Loving & proud Uncle to Elizabeth (Neil) MacGregor, Susan Loree (Neil), Peggy (Jim) Reid, Kathy (Roger) Mitchell, Susan Etherington, Robb (Julia) Main, Ian Main, other extended family, several cousins, extended family & great nieces & nephews. Bill will be fondly remembered by his many friends in Cornwall & Toronto.

Dad started dentistry right out of high school in 1945, the 1st class after the war. He graduated in 1950 & practiced dentistry for 47 years in Cornwall. He loved his work & was dedicated to his patients & staff and was the on-call dentist for the jail for many years. It was impossible walking anywhere with dad as he was constantly stopping to say hello & get caught up - he seemed to know everyone in town!

Dad was a proud Cornwallite who loved to cycle & jog along the river and was an avid skier but his passion was the animals in his life especially his dogs. He was a lifetime member of the Cornwall Kennel Club spending many happy evenings at dog classes & stewarding at the CKC dog shows.

He will be remembered as a kind & gentle man with a keen sense of humor who liked to make people laugh and as a dentist with a sweet tooth.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the compassionate people who cared for dad at Harmony Hills. He was well known to all the staff and they made his 6 years there very happy.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, Trinity Church, Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Animal Centre or charity of choice gratefully acknowledged.

A celebration of life & internment will take place at a later date in Cornwall.

Dear Deirdre:

Deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear Father. Dr. Bill was a gentlemen and the best boss anyone could ask for. He made going to work a pleasure. Not once in all the time we worked together did I not want to go to work. Your father was very generous with his knowledge. He was a wonderful teacher. Dr. Bill always kept me up-to-date with everything new.

I thank him everyday for the wonderful life he helped me have.

Love you, Ronalda and Family

Dear Dierdre,

When we met your dad that time at Christmas, we found him to be the sweetest person imaginable, with a most wonderful sense of humour. May he rest in peace and, in time, may you find peace as well. He was blessed to have had you as his daughter.

Much love,

Karen and Diana

Hi Dierdre,
Not sure if you remember me but I definitely think of you often and wonder how you are. So very sorry to hear about your dad. I only met him a few times but do you remember him. Hoping you are at peace. Sarah
