In Loving Memory

William Wong – 01/15/1951 – 5/10/2020
William (Bill) King Hung Wong was born on January 15, 1951 in Hoi Ping, China. He was one of five children born from Tam Wai Kun and Wong Kwok Hin. Wong King Hung graduated from Lee Kau Yan Memorial School in Hong Kong in 1969 before working very hard to begin Collegiate School in Canada. After his immigration to Canada, he completed his education at Algonquin College of Technology (1973), University of Ottawa (BS Electrical Engineering 1976), and Concordia University (MS Aerospace Engineering 1992).
He began his career at Visteon/ACRO as a SW/HW Systems Engineer and stayed in the automotive industry working at Daimler Chrysler, GM Onstar, TRW Automotive, Autoliv and ESG. He was the committed, dedicated, and hard-working rock of the family. William cherished his family more than anything. “Family is #1” was always something he lived by and made sure was passed on as a legacy to his successors.
In his free time, he loved spending time with his dog, Buttercup, striving to improve every aspect of his health (physically and mentally), talking to his children, and working on DIY home improvement projects. He was always a problem solver and very analytical in everything he strived to complete. He was also fond of traveling and experiencing the world, bringing his family to Disney World, the Bahamas, New England, and Canada throughout the years.
William had a strong Christian faith and was a member of the Oakland Chinese Church in Auburn Hills, MI. He cherished the time he was able to spend in fellowship and appreciated the support from other members of the church.
William, age 69 of Rochester Hills, MI passed away peacefully in Toronto, ON on Sunday May 10, 2020 at Scarborough General Hospital.
He is survived by his daughter: Christina (Mark) Gustin of Plymouth, MI; son: Wilson Wong of Chicago, IL; sisters: Wong Yuen Mei (Lai King Kwong) of Toronto, ON, Wong Yuen Ching of Toronto, ON, and Wong Yuen Ping (Hui Wai Kit) of Hong Kong; brother: Wong King Keung of Toronto, ON.

I didn't interact with him much, but he was the father of a close friend at the time. He was nothing but kind and welcoming every time I came over!

Dear Christina and Wilson -- We are so saddened by the loss of your beloved father. He was such a remarkable man. From humble beginnings, as you know, he worked really hard throughout his life to make something of himself and achieve all the success he did for himself and his family. And he loved you, his children, so much. You were his oxygen and the air he breathed, and he delighted in all your achievements. We'll miss him, and we hope that your fond memories of your dad will bring you solace and comfort in the days and years ahead.
Please stay in touch, and come and visit us when the world opens up post-pandemic.
-With love, Auntie Myra and Uncle Joe.

Dear Bill, Thank you for living out your faith in our LORD Christ Jesus. Your perseverance and cheerful spirit during your fight with the cancer showed us your Hope in our LORD. Thank you our dear Brother. As you have return Home to Heaven and rest in our LORD, we will continue to pray for your family, for Christina, for Wilson and for your Brother and Sisters. May our LORD's Words and Spirit comfort everyone in your family for we know that will see you again in Heaven.

For we are convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Dear Christina and Wilson, Please let us know, if there is anything we can do for both of you.

Love in Christ,
ChuanSeng and LeeCheng
