In memory of

William John Witterick

September 26, 1925 -  February 10, 2020

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, William (Bill) Witterick affectionately known as Geedo. In the early hours of February 10th, surrounded by family, Geedo bid us goodbye and took the hand of the Lord after a long and happy life on earth knowing that his family would take care of each other as he took care of us; Daughter Denise Campbell (Ammy), Grandchildren Yvonne (Peter), Scott, Lindsay (Graham), Cheryl, Keely and great grandchildren Rebecca, Blaise (Maddie), Brayden, Ashton, Savannah, Sinead, Andrew, Addison, Brenna, Travis, Logan, Ethan and Brodie.

Geedo, there was no end to the love you gave us. We are kinder because of you, we are gentler because you taught us to be, and we know exactly what desserts to choose because you never steered us wrong. We hope that your reunion with Nanny was everything you wanted it to be and though we are sad, we know that you are always with us.

I am sure the Lord welcomed Bill with open arms.
May the Lord give you and your family comfort during this time of loss.

I feel blessed to have spent last Friday evening with you Geedo. Even though you were trying to get Scott to sneak you out. Lol. I will always remember what you said. To "take care of myself and be happy. Say hi to my boys." You really lead by example and showed us what it really means to be a good Christian. You will be missed but you generous spirit will live on. Cheri

To Bill’s Family We had the pleasure of getting to know Bill as he was my Moms neighbour at Extendicare. Such a sweet man, who I enjoyed talking to every time I was there. I had many an opportunity to wheel him back to his room, sit him by the window, so he could read his Toronto Star. He will be missed!! My mom will miss him a lot, as she sat with him at meal time. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time. xoxo Christine (daughter of Jean Hunt)

I have many fond memories of the time that June and I spent in Mississauga with our Aunty Lee and Uncle Bill (Geedo). We went on a lot of outings together and we enjoyed socializing with them. Uncle Bill was a gentleman, and we knew that we could count on him.
We are sorry for your loss. A donation has been made to Covenant House on Uncle Bill’s behalf.
