WILLIAM (BILL) EMERSON TINDALL Bill passed away peacefully on December 30, 2016 just a few weeks shy of his 94th birthday at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre. Loving husband of Eileen (predeceased) and father to Barbara (Mick), Sharon (Kevin) and Wayne (Claudia) and survived by his youngest brother Bob. Cherished gramps of Eron, Keely and Randal (Danielle). We're so grateful that Bill was able to meet little Sammy, his only great-grandson. Born and raised in Toronto, Bill was determined to enlist in the Army to serve in WWII despite being underage, eventually being awarded the Légion d'Honneur (France's highest order for military service). He loved singing and always enjoyed taking a well-deserved nap. His humour and quick wit were well known and will be greatly missed. Bill was always the first to help a friend and, together with Eileen, volunteered for many years for the Shriners Hospital for Children, as well as helping those afflicted with cancer. Thank you to the team at Sunnybrook's K2W and in particular his primary nurse Ana. A Masonic service and Celebration of Life will be held together at a later date. Donations to Sunnybrook's Veteran's Comfort Fund or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
