In memory of

William Bryce Weaver

June 5, 1961 -  May 31, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Bryce Weaver, on May 31st, 2021 at the age of 59. Bryce is survived by his wife, Karen Jean Weaver; and his children Lauren Elizabeth Weaver (36), Cathryn Alexandra Weaver (34), and William Brendan Weaver (31).

Bryce was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 5th, 1961 to Peter Brink Weaver and Pauline (Austin) Carrick. He met his wife, Karen Jean Weaver at a UCC graduation dance (but with different dates!), fell in love and were married for 38 years.

Bryce was a UCC old boy and had very fond memories of his time at the school. He attended the University of Waterloo and earned his Bachelors of Maths in 1985. He spent his entire working career at Texaco/ Imperial Oil. A dedicated employee for over 36 years.

A caring husband, son, father and grandfather, Bryce was always a kid at heart. He was patient, intelligent, thoughtful, resourceful, pragmatic but silly, a lover of terrible dad jokes with boundless energy and a crazy work ethic. He could run a masterclass in tinkering and puttering around the house, garage and cottage. Never one to sit still, no task was too big or complex to attempt to fix it or do it himself.

He was also passionate of the outdoors, and we share fond memories of camping, hiking, running and biking, especially in Alberta. Cathryn and Bryce ran several marathons together and had more to come. When the family moved to Calgary in 2005, he embraced the mountain life with summers filled with hiking and winters of snowboarding, although he never lost his love for the Ontario Cottage country.

A small family funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, June 9th.

You are missed. We love you. Rest well.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Amici Camping Charity. Bryce spent many fond summers of his youth at Camp Onondaga and was passionate about raising his children to have a love for the great outdoors. https://amici.akaraisin.com/ui/AmiciCampingCharityDonate/donations/start

It was always a pleasure talking with Bryce and hearing about his amazing adventures. At family get togethers we would enjoy a dram or two of good scotch and I would listen to his stories. I truely enjoyed Bryce's company and will miss him.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Bryce's passing.
We worked in the same department in the early days of our careers at Texaco/Imperial, and although our paths took us in different directions within the company, Bryce always had time for a quick catch-up chat whenever we would run into each other.
Such a nice guy and always so positive.
So sad that he's gone so young. My heart goes out to Karen and his family. May your happy memories carry you through the difficult days ahead.
