In memory of

Vrasidas (Bill) Lagakos

With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the passing of our kind and loving Vrasidas (Bill) Lagakos - the adored patriarch of our family. Surrounded by all the love he so readily gave, he peacefully passed away, with his family by his side.

Bill touched so many peoples’ lives and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him and feel the warmth of his kindness and generosity. Nothing meant more to Bill than family and home, both in his birthplace of Greece and here in Canada.

Bill was the beloved husband of Catherine for sixty-four years with whom he shared a happy and rich life, full of beautiful memories. He was blessed with six children Stephanie (Brad), Tess (Steve), Peter, Ted (Cris), Mary (Michael), and Andrea (John). We all live by his example. With a smile, he taught us to enjoy the simple and important things in life with the love of family being one of his most important beliefs. Bill lived for his grand and great-grand children, and he was blessed with many. Katie, Alexander, Michael, Will, Alyssa, Jonathan, Jessica, Ryan, Emily, Evan, Samuel, Matthew, and Andrew along with great-grandchildren Ellie, Finn, Levi, and Sawyer.

He will be missed beyond words but we will always carry him in our hearts. “When tomorrow starts without me don't think we are far apart for every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.”

Visitation will be held at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto on Wednesday July 20th, from 6-8 p.m.. Funeral Mass to be held at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10 a.m., followed by a burial and reception at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery and Funeral Centre. For everyone’s safety, the family respectfully requests the wearing of masks.

The family would like to thank the wonderful team at the Bridgepoint Centre for Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bridgepoint Foundation, https://www.hennickbridgepointhospital.ca/en/foundation/how-to-donate.asp.
