In memory of

William (Bill) John Telford

September 15, 1918 -  November 12, 2019

Peacefully on November 12, 2019 at Niagara General Hospital in his 101st year. Loving husband of Agnes Telford (deceased) for 62 years. Cherished father of Rhonda (Victor) and Sandra (Chris). Bill was born in Ireland in 1918 and came to Canada in 1929. He grew up in Toronto where he met his wife and eventually had a family.

Bill was a machinist by profession but had many interesting jobs over the years while growing up. Bill had a good work ethic and took many night school courses to improve his knowledge and skill as a machinist. Bill worked in the publishing industry and one of his proudest achievements at work was when he was called upon to build two new machines for the company he worked for: one that printed Christmas tags and the other to bind books. He loved to ice skate, read, shop and listen to music. He also loved magic and had many tricks up his sleeve. As kids Rhonda and I were always fascinated by what he could do. Although he was usually not the one to make social plans, he always enjoyed himself once you got him out.

Bill had a great sense of humour as well as a typical Irish temper. He was a very interesting man and there was never a dull moment with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery and Visitation Centre (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair Ave. E), on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., with interment and reception to follow. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Canada, Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
