Beloved mother of Cory and Jesse Lipman; dear sister to Dianne Werner Simon and Edward Werner. Joanne passed away Wednesday August 10th after a long battle with cancer which she fought with tenacity and grace. Joanne dedicated her life to helping others: she worked for many years as a nurse, received her Master's Degree in Adult Education and Counselling, and went on to become a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) and Family Counsellor with the Region of Durham for many decades. She had a kind, loving, and compassionate spirit, a love for nature, and a laugh that could brighten any room. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

A memorial date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery and Funeral Centre will be announced in the near future.
