In memory of

Sylvia Weininger

March 26, 1930 -  January 15, 2017

Sylvia Roberta Singer-Weininger
On January 15th, 2017 in a quiet room with her loving daughters and gentle music playing in the background, our wonderful mother, Sylvia passed away peacefully. She fought a remarkably courageous battle following a severe stroke.
Sylvia, beloved wife of the late Otto Weininger, will forever be in the hearts of her daughters Lisa Pepler and Erica Weininger, son-in-laws Cameron Pepler and J.D. Fitzgerald, grandsons McKenzie Pepler and Cody Fitzgerald.
Sylvia was born and raised in Montreal. She graduated from McGill University with a BFA and went on to become an innovative and creative multi-media artist and skilled art therapist. Her artwork can be found in many private collections and galleries.
Sylvia was a generous mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was witty, intelligent and sociable and made friends everywhere she went. She touched many people’s lives.
The family would like express our sincerest thanks to the care teams at Mt. Sinai Hospital and a special heart-felt thank you to the amazing staff at the Balmoral Club for going above and beyond in their care and warmth for our mother. Special thank you to Lourdes Paner, for her years of devoted support and care.
Funeral will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Funeral Centre (east gate entrance off Mount Pleasant Road) on Thursday, January 26th at 1:00. Family will receive friends at 12:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Dear Lisa and Erica - I cannot tell you how sad I am to know of your mother's death. She was a dedicated friend and collaborator - I have so many family memories of you all - I have missed and will continue to miss Sylvia' friendship, intelligence and shared appreciation of the things that matter in life -our children, our dedication to art.

Her last Christmas card to me , some years ago, has kept falling out of things I pick up to file, since this Christmas, since January, so I felt I must call but looked on line first to be sure of the number . . . So shocked by finding the obituary. My love to all of you .
