In memory of

Wayne Gilmour Henry

Mr. Wayne G. Henry (B.A; B.Ed; M.Ed), aka Mr. ‘H’, beloved husband, father, grandfather and teacher passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, daughter Alison (Nicholas), son Drew (Kelli), grandchildren Victoria, Mitchell, Alyssa, Alexander, Mackenzie, Edward, and his extended family and friends. He was a teacher and Vice Principle from Kindergarten – University. He will be lovingly remembered by his many students’ lives that he enhanced and brought joy to. His focus became creating and delivering programs for special education. He was an amazing and beloved dance instructor for over 20 years at Traditions Academy of Dance (formerly The Studio of Dance and Performing Arts) in Whitby. Many will miss his unique sense of humour and playful nuances. He had a real passion for music; he was bassist, played drums and guitar. He was so proud to have recently attained 3rd degree Master Mason. He was a world-class traveler and enjoyed seeing the world with his wife and friends.
A cause that was near and dear to Wayne’s heart, was to ensure that every child, particularly high school aged children had food to eat. In lieu of flowers, it would mean so much to Wayne to donate to the food/breakfast program for children. One suggestion would be the Breakfast Club of Canada; breakfastclubcanada.org.

We are truly going to miss Wayne, especially his laughter and smiles, his genuinely warm personality and disposition, and the numerous stories he shared with us and my family over the years.
Beth, you and your family are in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear this news today. Mr Henry, (Wayne) was such a great role model and inspiration for his many, many students, and their families. We knew him through the Dance Studio, and we thank him and his family for many years of dedication.
My heart goes out to his wife, daughter and entire family. He truly was a gentleman.
