Wayne Christopher Bone

October 24, 1952 -  June 11, 2025

BONE, Wayne Christopher – (Retired employee of IBM)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Chris, in his 73rd year. He was a devoted husband to Cheryl, a loving father to Curtis, Ethan, and Hillary, and a cherished grandfather to Victoria, Elijah, and Jonah. A loving stepfather to Tricia, Alecia(Obrian),Nickesha(Dexta), Vannessa (Nick) and Shanice. A devoted and proud grandfather to Sueraya, Nathaniel, Nehemiah, Samirah, Aiden, Big Nolan, Emmanuel, Little Nolan, Nehlani and Nylah who will forever remember his warmth laughter, and the love he poured into their lives.
Chris was the devoted son of the late Ron and Lois Bone (predeceased), and a cherished brother to Gary, Gregory (Susan), Daniel (predeceased), Peter (predeceased) Jeffrey (Kim), and Lisa. He will also be fondly remembered as a cherished uncle by his many nieces and nephews.
Chris was a proud and passionate father and grandfather, dedicating countless hours to coaching lacrosse and hockey, not only for his children, but for the wider community of Oshawa. He found great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, cheering them on at sporting events, watching them grow through swimming he taught them, skiing, and cruising the lake in his boat. He brought laughter, warmth, and friendship to all who knew him, whether in Oshawa, Collingwood, at his cottage on Beech Lake, Haliburton Lake, or at Island Lake (Kearney).
Always willing to lend a hand, especially when it came to helping with a boat or car, Chris was a friend to many, near and far. His absence will be deeply felt every single day.
He was the finest husband, father, and grandfather one could hope for, and we are incredibly proud of the legacy he leaves behind. His memory will remain forever in our hearts.
Friends will be received at Thornton Funeral Centre, 1200 Thornton Road North (905-579-6787), on Friday, July 4th at 11:00 a.m. for a graveside service. A memorial will follow at Thornton Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Prostate Cancer Research or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated.

My condolences, love, and hugs to Cheryl, Chris's family, and the many friends who were blessed to know Chris.

I'll always remember the special times Chris and I spent chasing "pow" on the powder highway. We often travelled together to AB and BC in February to ski the big mountains - enjoying the sweet, cold air, the spectacular scenery, and exhilarating runs!

Chris's smiles and laughter will be deeply missed.
