I have known Washi and his brothers and sister since I was a child. Washi's mother was my father's little sister. She was married to the Chen family in Jamaica. She and my parents always had close contacts even though they were separated by the oceans. I saw photos of the family as they grew up in Jamaica. I felt I had known them all my life. When Washi went to Germany, my parents were in France. That was the first time we met when he visited us. He was very warm and gentle. He was studying to be a dancer. The next time we encountered each other was in the US. My mother, brother and I were living in Connecticut at the time. He surprised us with a visit. He was very fit and handsome. I always remember his gentleness and sweet smile.
