It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that we announce the passing of Wanda Horawski, surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket ON, on Thursday May 11, 2017, at the age of 78. Wanda was the beloved wife of the late John (Jan) Horawski, cherished mother to her three children Ed (Lynda), Eva (Robert) and Paul (Patricia), and the proud grandmother of Janek, Jennifer, Alex, Angel (predeceased), Michael and Daniel. She will also be deeply missed by her surviving brother-in-law Zygmunt (Daniela), cousin Stanley (David) in Toronto, and her family in Poznan, her late brother Eugeniusz (Regina), and his children, Malgosia (Piotr), Darek (Danuta) and Emila.

Born to parents Boleslaw and Teodora Kowalski in Poznan Poland. Wanda and Jan married on June 30 1958 in Reims, France and moved to Toronto, Ontario in August 1958 where they built a loving home for their family, and spent many memorable and enjoyable summers at the cottage on Norlock Lake in Barry’s Bay, Ontario.

Former employee of Loblaws for 33 years, Wanda enjoyed her retirement in Aurora ON and took every opportunity to travel and enjoy life to its fullest.

Please join us in a celebratory memorial mass for Wanda at 3:00pm on Sunday July 2, 2017 at St Leo's parish, 277 Royal York Rd, Etobicoke, ON M8V 2V8

Dear Ed, Ewa & Pawel: Our sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. We were so looking forward to her coming to visit with us! Our recent reconnection brought back so many warm & wonderful memories of our times in Barry's Bay... picking apples in your orchard, water-skiing on Long Lake, picking mushrooms...but most of all spending time together in a place we all loved. Your mom was always a bundle of energy, her positive outlook on life was contagious and her love for her family always shone in everything she did. She was indeed a very special person!
