WECKER, Walter

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of the late Walter Wecker Jr. of Oshawa, Ontario. He passed away on Saturday, September 21, at 74 years of age. Walter leaves behind his wife Brigitte (of 44 years), his son Michael (Alex) granddaughters, Lily, Violet, Rose, his son Thomas (Stacey) granddaughters Ava and Aria, his son Ryan, grandsons, Raheem, Kyle, Miro, his daughter Michelle (Ghattas) and grandson George. He was a very devoted family man admired by his grandchildren for all his words of wisdom. Walter was a social man, he loved a good conversation with family and friends and always had his finger on the pulse of what was going on in the lives of those around him. He prided himself in giving advice and trying to guide and coach his family. He loved all the family pets and took great care in pet–sitting for his family. Walter was a proud member of Plumbers Local 46 for 54 years. He was a Master Plumber, he had his own business for 10 years and retired at the age of 61. Walter also known as Wally, was a very skilled tradesman, he could fix just about anything, and if something needed to be built, he was well positioned to design and build it. Walter was loved deeply by his family and will by missed dearly by all who knew him. Walter, may you rest in eternal peace. Friends may call at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Friday September 27, 2024 for visitation from 11:30 am until time of funeral at 1 pm. The hurt from losing a good man may never go away and Uncle Walter was just that....A Good Man !!! I met Uncle Walter when I was just a small child and though he wasn't technically my Uncle, I always did and will consider him my Uncle. His calming voice, his friendly demeanour, his kindness and sense of humour always made me admire the man he was. We all take things from people along the way of life and I know from an early age Uncle Walter left a lasting impression on me that will never be forgotten. I hope wherever you are now that you are having a good laugh with my dad and I hope to one day see you again on the other side.

Rest in Peace Uncle Walter

Walter was my very first foreman when I entered the plumbing and mechanical trade. His intelligence, wisdom, advice, and friendly outgoing personality will never ever be forgotten. He was my friend before he was a co-worker. Thank you for everything you have given me Walter, you will never be forgotten. May your soul rest with God, and may He watch over your family.
