Walter Victor Saunders

March 17, 1930 -  June 26, 2021

On June 26, 2021, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, husband to Barbara and devoted father to Marianne Drew and Jacqueline Ajmo (Derrick), loving Grandfather to Marshall, Morgan, Chris, and Jack, Step-father to David Smellie and Renee Smith. Leaving behind his sister, Emma Vold (Tony) and brother Bill Sawka (Annette).

Special people in our lives are never really gone. They have a special place in our hearts, where they will always be remembered for the love they shared and the happiness they brought.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.

Expressing my deepest sympathy for your loss. I found Walt was always such a pleasure. I’ve never met anyone with such a positive outlook on life, regardless of circumstances.

Walt brought spirit and fun to those around him. He was a faithful colleague and team player to his friends and company. His skill on the piano and his own keyboard brought us all hours of entertainment and comradery. But it was his love for Barb, and hers for him, that allowed his wonderful character to blossom and we were all able to share in the ripples that emanated. Today, Wesley and I thinking about the sound of his laugh, and wishing peace for Barbara.
