May Walter, such a great man and survivor find peace. May my Lisa and family find warmth from the memories of a most notable, giving mensch (good person), and outstanding member of our society. My heart is with all the Homburger and Noel members, and anyone who was fortunate enough to know him.

It's a long time ago now that our paths crossed but I want to send you my deepest sympathy at your loss of Walter, and to thank you for the kindness that you showed me in my short time in Toronto. I enjoy hearing about the orchestra from my very dear friend Winona Zelenka and so know how recently Walter was enjoying concerts with you. The friendship goes back to my father and the parents of Emmy. I got to know Walter and his lovely family better, when I was 17. We went on holidays, Lisa and Mike were children, and every minute was managed by father Walter. This impressed me my whole life, his fatherhood's kindness. What a great man. Thank you for everything.
An inspired manager who saw the big picture for the orchestra’s future. He turned a city orchestra into an international institution by astutely researching trends in the symphonic world and also wooing big time talents to the TSO stage. He was friends with many of the artists and managed and gave advice to others.
A fixture on the Toronto Classical music scene, his vision and love of the art form will be missed.
We were very fortunate to have Walter and Emmy as neighbours. Walter was gracious, generous and modest despite exceptional achievement in the arts .He introduced many exceptional musicians to the Canadian public and to the world. We were lucky to have known him.
