In memory of

Waldemar Arno Ruhig

July 24, 1933 -  December 14, 2018

RUHIG, Waldemar

It is with great sadness that the family of Wally Ruhig announces his passing on Dec. 14, 2018, at the age of 85. He loved his family and will be deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, Annelore, his daughter, Karen and husband Jim (Colin, Ray), grandchildren, Megan and Tom and daughter-in-law, Tracy. Also his brother-in-law, Hartmut and wife Roya in Germany.
He is predeceased by his beloved son Chris and brother Otto and sisters, Louise and Frieda.
He was a kind and gentle man with a quiet sense of humour who was loved by all who knew him. He was fond of sailing and loved skiing.
We would like to thank the Doctors and staff at North York General Hospital for their great care.
A memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 2pm, with visitation 1 hour prior and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to North York General Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

My deepest condolences. May you find the strength to make it through this difficult time. Uncle Wally was a great man who I will always think of fondly. I have great memories of him sailing at the cottage. Love Nicky xo

My deep and sincere condolences to Annelore, Karen and extended family. I will treasure the table that Wally lovingly made for me when I left Canada so many years ago. I will always remember Karen and I hanging out in the basement of the family home watching videos and being treated as another daughter. I will be sad that I will not be there on the 7th to honor this gentle, sweet man.
