In memory of

Barry John Edward Wadman

November 22, 1941 -  October 20, 2022

It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Barry after a brief illness in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Gillian for 33 years he will be forever loved and cherished. Proud father of Craig and the late Mark (dec. 2020) and stepson, Corey Lister. Predeceased by his parents William G. Wadman and Phyllis E. Cairnie. Barry will be lovingly remembered by his brother, Roger Barlow and sister-in-law, Ros Barlow in England. Dear Uncle of Debbie ( Megan and Harry) and Sarah. Barry will be fondly remembered by his first wife Claire Herrema. Predeceased by his partner Sheila Henderson.

Barry had a long career in the field of education as a Teacher, Principal, Education Officer and Education Consultant with the Council for Ontario Directors of Education. Barry was respected in his field and will be missed by the many friends and colleagues he met and worked closely with over the years. In particular Barry kept in touch with a few former staff members from his early days as Principal at William Bercy in Unionville. He will be deeply missed and remembered by Lynn Hitsman, Gayle Connor, Dorothy St. John and Wes and Mary Fierheller.

I was a student at King City Public School from 1967-68 and remember Mr. Wadman as being a tall man who treated students with kindness and always seemed to have a smile and friendly greeting. My sincere condolences to the Wadman family.

Always enjoyed Barry's academic perspectives and his dry sense of humour.
My sympathies to the family and dear friends.

A colleague of Barry’s with the YRDSB. Enjoyed every opportunity I had to chat with Barry about the principal role…then I became one and practiced his tutelage!!! RIP
