Tribute to Mom

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our Mom on November 16, 2023. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully, with our loving family by her side.

It is almost impossible to put into words what Mom meant to us and so many others. She accomplished so much in her 53 beautiful years. Mom was a devoted wife to Sanford, loving mother to Us (Jason, Katherine, Hanna and Matthew), caring daughter to George and Irene, supportive sister to Bill, and an inspiration to family and friends.

We will remember Mom as a nurturing, optimistic, hard-working, and selfless role model. She gave us everything and asked for nothing in return. Her love and enthusiasm for us extended to everyone around her. Mom’s generosity and compassion for others inspired her to selflessly give back to her community through involvement with our schools, the National Ballet of Canada, and as a board member of the North Toronto Soccer Club.

We are so proud of Mom’s academic and professional accomplishments as a successful and respected lawyer. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and, while working as an Occupational Therapist, achieved her Masters in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Toronto. She then immediately attained her Bachelor of Laws from Western University. Her drive to excel was simply unmatched. Mom’s dedication to her education and career has taught us to set the highest standards in everything we do and to pursue our goals with passion.

We are grateful to have had such an inspiring Mom and will forever appreciate the sacrifices she made for us. Whether you know Mom through her personal or professional life, we know she will be missed dearly.

We miss you, Mom, and are so blessed to have had you for as long as we did. You will forever remain in our hearts.

In honour of Mom and the love for her pets, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent in her memory to the Toronto Humane Society.
