In memory of

Virginia Cavalluzzo

April 5, 1948 -  September 9, 2024

Virginia passed on September 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving, supportive family. She twice struggled heroically with cancer having fought breast cancer several years ago and then battling her last bout over the past six years with courage, strength and dignity. She never lost her inner will to live and enjoy her family particularly her grandchildren who brought her great love and joy.

Virginia was married to William “Bill” Cavalluzzo for 42 years. She and Bill have three wonderful children: Michael (Brandy), Nicole and Mathew (Katerina) as well as five beautiful grandchildren: Charlotte, Beau, Jack, Henry and Zoe. In her last several weeks, Bill and her children ensured that she was never alone at the hospital or home until her last breath. Hopefully, their love and attention made her last journey a little easier.

Virginia was also loved and will be missed by Bill’s children: James and Michelle Cavalluzzo, granddaughter Olivia and great granddaughter Isabella.

Virginia loved spending time in her garden, doting on her grandchildren and watching her children grow into such loving and caring individuals. She loved to travel and was passionate about the several organized trips to Italy. She was a fashionista and could always be trusted to be perfectly coiffed and dressed with quiet elegance for any occasion.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Gordon Buchanan, and her brother Gord Buchanan and is survived by her sister, Jean Ramirez.

The family wish to thank Dr. Vowinckle, Dr. Ma and her staff at Princess Margaret Hospital as well as the palliative care nurses and PSW’s who attended to Virginia’s needs in her last days.

Virginia’s life will be celebrated at Pine Hills Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Rd, Scarborough) on September 15 commencing with visitation at noon followed by a service and a reception. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (thepmcf.ca).

Aunt Ginny, thank you for your kindness to my little family, especially, during G’s first few months, it meant a lot! My daughters adored you and enjoyed your yummy banana bread. You were always an animal lover and I think our exposure to your pets over the years finally inspired my parents to get Misty. Dogs continue to be in my life today.
You should be proud that you raised Mike, Nicole and Matt to be such kind, quick witted, hardworking and caring adults! You have such adorable grandkids and I’ll make sure that my kids stay connected to their cousins. I saw how much you doted on them.
Rest in peace. Love you, Angela & the family
