Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the age of 90. Vincent was predeceased by two brothers, Tom and Joe (Sally); former husband of Mary Benedetto (nee Simone); father of Antoinette Benedetto, Paul Benedetto (Karen Kurtz), Julia McGeown (Peter Edwards) and Andrew Benedetto (Dan DiGiacomo); grandfather of Paul McGeown, Michael Tittoto (Alessia), Christopher McGeown (Chantelle), Melissa Tittoto (Mark) and Laura McGeown (Gryphon). Vince lived his entire life in Toronto. He started out as an auto mechanic and worked variously as a taxi driver, insurance salesman and real estate broker. Then he went into the concrete forming business. Through all of this, he was interested in developing property. Vince said it was only through mistakes in business that we learn. And he claimed to have made as many mistakes as anyone. Vince liked to take charge and was always full of creative ideas and solutions to any problem he might see. Although Vince could seem bigger than life, he was grounded in kindness and humour. A Celebration of Life will be held at YORK FUNERAL CENTRE, 160 Beecroft Road, North York, on Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Tributes and Memory Sharing will be held in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to North York Harvest Food Bank, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
