In memory of

Viguen John Dermeguerdichian

March 5, 1964 -  September 25, 2023

Surrounded by the love of his family and friends, John was recently diagnosed with ALS and passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on September 25, 2023 at the age of 59. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Ruby, his brother Raffi, his brother-in-law Masoud, his niece Ariana and nephew Armen.

John was born in Cairo Egypt on March 5, 1964 and immigrated to Canada later that year with his parents Zohrab and Marguerite Dermeguerdichian. Settling initially in Toronto, and eventually moving to reside permanently in Pickering. John graduated from University of Toronto with honours in 1988. He started his employment career with TD Canada Trust and later accepted a position with AGF Management Ltd. which later merged with Fidelity Investments Canada Ltd. As a Mutual Funds Trainer, he wrote their training manuals and frequently travelled to provide training.

Later in life, John worked at Musonic, On-Star and finally Amazon Canada. His hobbies included cycling, camping, canoeing, and attending concerts. He also competed in the Durham Region Dragon boat races. John was a very kind and generous person with a heart of gold. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family welcomes donations to the ALS Society of Canada as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.

Many fond memories of John over the years. Notorious as AC Dermo in his Dunbarton days, John was always a character with an interesting perspective. My condolences to his family and friends.
