In memory of

Victor Joseph Doria Albany Chevalier

October 10, 1924 -  January 28, 2022

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Victor Chevalier age 97 years on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Predeceased by his mother Blanche Aubin and father Joseph Chevalier, and last one of 9 siblings to pass on. Born in Taschereau Quebec, moving early on to Kapuskasing, Ontario. At the age of 18 (January 1943) he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in service to our country until discharge in December 1944. Predeceased by his first wife Claudette Chevalier (nee Bombardier) and survived by second wife Shirley Millar-Chevalier and daughter Suzanne Plourde (Allen) and grand-daughters Nicole Plourde (Jonathan), Stacey Owens (Daryl), great grand-children Addyson, Tyler, Mackenzie and Isla.

After service to his country, his life took him to Sherbrooke, Quebec where he met his first wife. They then moved to Toronto, married in 1959 and moved to Vancouver in 1963 for a year and a half. They then travelled back to Toronto in 1965, where he worked as a crane operator for numerous companies until his retirement at age 65. Upon meeting his second wife at 79 years of age in a whirlwind romance (met in April and married in September), they travelled yearly for the winter months to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, enjoying the lovely weather, scenery and people of that country. We truly believe that he lived a very long life in mostly good health and enjoyed spending time with family and friends any chance he got, and was always seen with his camera at the ready, making memories along the way. His spot beside Jesus was now ready and he answered that calling last Friday. We would like to thank all the nurses and doctors involved in his care at the Markham Stouffville Hospital Critical Care Palliative Care Unit during the last 3 weeks of his life. Visitation and service to be held on Friday, February 4th starting at 1pm at the Pine Hills Funeral Centre. RSVP to family is needed due to Covid restrictions for attendance. To watch a live stream of Service on Friday at 2pm, a link will be posted on this website at 1:45pm.

My condolences to the Plourde family. I will keep all my special memories I have of Uncle Vic and Aunt Claudette. They were special people. Gave us lots of happy and fun times growing up and was an honor to have them as relatives in our lives. They will both be missed. Love always cousin Diane.
