Born in Budapest, Hungary on March 26, 1929; passed away peacefully, with dignity and courage, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare. Beloved wife of the late Tom Herczeg for 56 years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Gabor and Susan (Liebel). Special Nagyi of Julie (Stephen Shedletzky) and Emily (Victoria Schwarzl). Proud great-grandmother of Sophie Bea. Vera will be missed by her many friends in Canada, Hungary and Australia. There will be a Memorial Gathering at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, entrance from 375 Mount Pleasant Road (East Gate Entrance, North of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572), on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00pm.
Friends and family may drop in at Gabor and Susan’s residence on Thursday after the memorial gathering between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, and 7:00pm and 9:00pm, on Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and on Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
If desired, donations may be made in Vera’s name to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, or the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art, or to a charity of your choice.
