In memory of

Vassiliadis Thomas

October 31, 1946 -  February 10, 2022

If you asked a hundred people who Thomas (Tommy) Vassiliadis was, they’d all give you the same story. A decent hardworking friend, father, grandfather and husband and they would all be right, Thomas was all of these things and more.
It’s no surprise that Thomas was a hard worker in all aspects of his life. He came to Canada with his mother to join his father who was already here and has been working hard ever since to make a life for himself. He bought his home on Gerard and Jones in East York in 1973 for his mother who wanted to remain in Canada only if she had a place to “plant her roots”, so given that challenge Thomas purchased the home for her on Galt Ave so she can “plant her roots” and has lived there ever since! He met Deborah when she was just 17 years old and they have been part of each other lives ever since. Deborah became a very special and important person to Thomas and has been someone who has taken care of Thomas both in life and in his recent years when he became very ill and unfortunately passed away, surrounded by his family in his beloved home on February 10th, 2022. His son Christopher was born in 1973 and has been a source of pride for him ever since. His grandchildren Tristan and Seth quickly became his next biggest love both in 2000 and 2006 when they were born. He is also survived by his brother Mike and his many nieces and nephews who are grateful to call him uncle Tom along with many more people who are delighted to have called him a friend, godfather, brother-in-law and father-in-law.
