In memory of

Vasilios "Bill" Spasopoulos

October 2, 1940 -  November 9, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vasilios (Bill) Spasopoulos, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Bill was a devoted husband to Anne and the late Maria. Loving father to Tina (Chris Dermentzis) and the Late Chris (Christine) Spasopoulos. Proud Grandfather to Eugenia (Jason Abela), William Spasopoulos, Christina (Al Haswaree), Mara (Chris Nikolovski), and Maryann (Gianluca Frasca). Adored great grandfather to Andre, Dorian, Luca, Dario and Cecelia. Beloved brother to Theodoros (Eleni), Aristotle (Kathy) and Georgina (Thomas Liakos).

Bill was born in Niki, Florina, Greece, and immigrated to Canada in 1965 with his young family, seeking a better future and embracing a new beginning in a foreign land. With a determination to make ends meet, Bill entered the restaurant industry, a career that would become his lifelong passion and legacy.

In 1967, with his two brothers by his side, Bill opened his first restaurant, *The 3 Coins*, bringing warmth, community, and a taste of home to his patrons. In 1970, they went on to open *The Trio Restaurant* in Aurora, a local institution cherished by all who passed through its doors. Through his hard work and dedication, Bill became a cornerstone of his community, known not only for his delicious food but for his welcoming spirit and generous heart.

A loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens and a supporter of the Aurora Tigers, he shared his love of sports with friends and family, cheering his teams on with passion.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his boundless generosity, and his ever-ready willingness to lend a helping hand to family and friends alike. Bill’s legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched and the community he helped build.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital and Sts. Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church of Markham, honouring Bill’s commitment to supporting those around him.

May his memory be eternal, and may he rest in peace.

We often talk about the “good old days” and all the good times we had together. Always ready to laugh and joke. We missed not being able to go for coffee and meet up

Dearest Tina and Family,

We were blessed to have become extended family members these past many years. And through this connection, we met Bill. His kind heart and pride for you and all his lovely family shone brightly! His welcoming and loving manner made us feel welcome and respected!
It was great to know I had a “HABS” fan counterpart too!
May he rest in peaceful grace and eternity with his beloved son and family that passed before him.
Love Vicki, Phil, Louis and Mary Accogli
