In memory of

Vasiliki (Rosie) Trokas (nee Petrou)

May 23, 1922 -  November 18, 2016

Vasiliki (Rosie) passed away at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Serbinis “Stanley” Trokas. Loved by her daughters Tina (Ilias) Thomas and Helen (Tony) Galeota and cherished by her grandchildren Alanna and Paul. Dear sister-in-law of Diana (the late Sam Petrou) and sister of Christine (Steve) Belkos (both predeceased). Vasiliki had many loves and interests; foremost her family, this beautiful country Canada, her native Greece, the flower and vegetable gardens for which she tenderly cared, her love of cooking traditional recipes, baking her famous breads, knitting and crocheting, her love of hats and her collection of china cups. Her home truly was her castle – one never went home without a care package! She had a sharp wit (sometimes too sharp), keeping the residents and staff on the fifth floor A -Wing Long Term Care at Mackenzie Health in stitches with her one liners.

Sincere gratitude to all the Teams – Doctors, Nurses, PSW’S, Kitchen and Support Workers that provided such care and comfort to Vasiliki Trokas over the past five years: The Hellenic Home for The Aged (Scarborough) and Mackenzie Health – Long Term Care Fifth Floor A-Wing (Richmond Hill).

“A Mother’s Love is always with us”

Tina and Helen and families,
I am profoundly sorry for your loss. I remember your mother with great affection: the quips she traded with Uncle Sammy, the affection she showed to us from the very first time we met as a family. She had a big heart.
Sincerest condolences from Doug, Claire, Victoria and me.
