In memory of

Valerij Babiak

December 30, 1964 -  November 11, 2020

With great sadness, the family of Valerij Babiak announces his passing at the age of 55 after a brief and sudden bout with cancer. Valerij will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Marina, and his daughter, Simona. He will also be dearly missed by his mother, Klara, and his brother, Alex.

Valerij graduated from university with honors and moved to Canada with his young family in 1996 to pursue his dreams. He successfully became one of the lead engineers at his company and contributed to many innovative projects over the span of 24 years in the field. His dedication, sense of humor and honesty will be greatly missed by all who were close to him.

In the interest of everyone's safety in these difficult times, a small private ceremony will be held on Tuesday November 17 for his immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who so desire to make donations in memory of Valerij to the Street Health Community Nursing Foundation's Overdose Prevention Site via the following webpage: https://www.streethealth.ca/donate. Please add "Overdose Prevention Site" as the listed designation for donations via their page.

I was greatly saddened by this news and will always remember him fondly. We had many long, deep discussions and had the same outlook on many subjects. Even in our differences, we ended up growing beyond them together. We also shared similar life challenges and supported each other.

I wish his family and close relations all the strength in this period following his passing.
