In memory of

Voula Tsourounis

March 12, 1926 -  July 25, 2021

Stavroula “Voula” Tsourounis was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She was born in Sparta, Greece on March 12, 1926. After marrying her beloved George, she left her homeland to begin a new life in Canada. Together, her and George had 4 children: John, Paul, Bill and Georgina.

Voula loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking up delicious meals for her family and friends. She was very social and loved to host big gatherings for everyone to enjoy eating, dancing and spending time together.

She was a doting grandmother to Beth-Anne (Paul), Michael (Aly), Stacey, Justin, Sarah (Jesse), Sean (Sydney), George and Dimitri. She was also fortunate enough to be surrounded by her 7 great-grandchildren, whom she loved to spoil.

Voula was very loved and we anticipate many wanting to come and pay their respects to her. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be limited to immediate family only. The funeral service will be live streamed on Friday, July 30th at 10:00am for those who wish to view it. The link for this live steam will be posted at 9:45am on Friday.

For those wishing to pay their respects in person, a viewing will be held on Thursday, July 29th, between 4:00pm and 8:00pm

For those who wish, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

Hugs and kisses to the family. Caring for an elder is always a difficult endeavor requiring a family team effort in ensuring thea Voula was cared for lovingly. Having her kids, her grandkids and great grandkids always around must have been of great comfort for her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family,
When I read Georgina's summary, my mind went back to a childhood memory where thea Voula was always cooking, especially around the holidays. I remember us kids would sneak behind her to nab cooked meatballs. We probably ate half the bowl before she'd yell at us to keep out (sometimes waiving her wooden spoon in our direction) and then merrily went on to make more. Well at least that's the way I remember it LOL.
