In memory of

Trifon (Troy) Pogontsis

July 5, 1958 -  January 2, 2024

We are heart broken to announce Troy's sudden and tragic passing.

Troy was born in Vassiliada, Kastoria, Greece. Predeceased by his father Ioannis Pogontsis and survived by his mother Chrisanthi Pogontsis (Marangos) and sister Anna Pogontsis and cousins in Toronto and Greece.

Words are not enough to describe his goodness, kindness, generosity and love that showed to family, friends, co-workers and all who knew him and the impact he made on all our lives.

A visitation will be held at York Funeral Centre on January 9, at 12:30 p.m.. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m., and the burial will take place afterwards at York Cemetery. Following the burial, a reception will be held back at the funeral centre.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation

Although I haven’t seen Troy for some time, I have many fond memories of the times we’d meet at Go Go Burgers and plan the evenings events.
Always with a smile, he’ll be remembered and missed.

I would like to send my deepest condolences on behalf of the Petkovski Family. As old neighbours down on Chicoutimi my baba Gela and I often visited with Teta Chrisanthi and Triphon and Anna, I have many fond memories of going over and playing with the dogs as a child and am saddened to hear of his passing.
With love and prayers Angela. 🤍🕊️

My deepest sympathy to Teta Tsana and Anna. My Mom and Teta Tsana were close. I'll always remember Troy dropping off food and things from the garden to my mother. He was always so kind and helpful.
Our thoughts are with Teta Tsana and Anna.
From the Sideris family
