In memory of

Trevor James Sheryer

June 28, 1977 -  May 27, 2022

The family of Trevor James Sheryer is heartbroken to announce that he died suddenly and unexpectedly on May 27, 2022 at the age of 44.

Trevor will be missed by his wife Robin, his precious daughter, Avery, his mother, Greta Lariviere and her husband Tim Lariviere, his brother Brent Sheryer and his wife Jennifer Sheryer, their children Jacob and Clara, his sister Debbie Cote and her husband Roger Cote, their children Christina, Zack, Josh, and Elora, his brother Phil Obendorf and his children Graedon and Clark, his father and mother-in-law Justin and Dora Chan, sisters-in-law, Denise and Michelle and his many loved relatives in Ontario and the Netherlands. He was predeceased by his father Richard Sheryer and his wife Bev Sheryer.

Trevor graduated from Fanshawe in Business. He then met his future wife Robin, who loved his fun loving and care free, spirited nature. Robin was instrumental in him becoming more accomplished in his successful accounting career. While working in accounting, Trevor went on to Toronto Metropolitan University (Ryerson University) to get his Bachelor of Commerce and then completed his CMA. Trevor worked as an Associate Director at UBS and will be missed by his colleagues there.

Robin and Trevor married seven years ago. The Chans warmly received Trevor into their family. Trevor enjoyed being part of their family, especially the outings to restaurants where Justin helped Trevor become a more adventurous eater.

You couldn’t know Trevor without knowing that his daughter Avery was his pride and joy. Trevor doted on her, was fiercely protective of her, and would do anything to make her smile. Although he was an avid Leafs and Steelers fan, he spent more time in the last few years watching Disney+ than sports. He knew all the Disney movie songs and wasn't too proud to sing them at Avery’s request. If you needed to find Avery, you could just look up to Trevor’s shoulders, her favourite place to be.

Family gatherings will never be the same without Trevor’s great sense of humour and enthusiasm. The kids especially will miss the big, fun guy who would throw them into the air, play silly games for hours, and give them all of his time.

Words cannot express how deeply Trevor will be missed by all who knew him.

To Robin, family and friends, my deepest condolences.

I'll always remember Trevor. He was kind, smart, thoughtful, funny, loud and quiet. We met a long time ago at college. He introduced me to one of his favourite passtimes of watching football and following the Steelers. We shared only a fraction of time together, but enough memories to last a lifetime. I think of him right now and it makes me sad and happy. I'll miss him.
